The election is over and the voters spoke (see article). No many news: the Government may say it received a boost (but not a plebiscite). The same goes to the moderate left and right. And the big loosers where those on the extreme oposition.
Is this meant to be a smooth future ahead? Not quite. Argentina’s economy is largely based on raw materials and agriculture commodities export as well as State’s income is. The Government refuses to act as an active player with soft credits to impulse internal market industries (and jobs). Any signal of international economy slowing pace may put a halt to the present optimism.
Las elecciones pasaron y los votantes hablaron (ver artículo). Sin muchas novedades: el gobierno puede decir que ha recibido apoyo (pero no un plebiscito). Lo mismo se aplica a la derecha y la izquierda moderadas. Y los grandes perdedores han sido los opositores extremos.
¿Significa esto un futuro plácido por delante?No tanto. La economía argentina se basa ampliamente en la exportación de materias primas y mercancías alimentarias y los ingresos del Estado también lo hacen. El gobierno se resiste a ser un jugador activo con créditos blandos para impulsar las industrias (y empleos) para el mercado interno. Cualquier indicio de enfriamiento en la economía mundial puede poner un alto al optimismo actual.
