Amadeo Jacques
The usual rant about the rebel students and the decay of the education. The author complaints that the national College of Buenos Aires is jeopardized by the interference of the students in its management. He recalls the traditional book “Juvenilia” from Miguel Cane and the legendary director Amadeo Jacques.
Regrettably he forgets to mention that Cane was later one of the proto-fascist rabid haters of the immigrant workers. The scene of the book I remember the most is one in which a pupil confronts Jacques in a fist fight. The Horror!
La queja acostumbrada acerca de los estudiantes rebeldes y la decadencia de la educación. El autor lamenta que el Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires está amenazado por la intromisión de los estudiantes en su conducción. Recuerda el tradicional libro “Juvenilia” de Miguel Cané y al legendario rector Amadeo Jacques.
Lamentablemente, olvida mencionar que Cané fue luego uno de los rabiosos proto-fascistas odiadores de los obreros inmigrantes. La escena del libro que mejor recuerdo es aquella en el que un alumno enfrenta a Jacques a golpes de puño. ¡El Horror!
