Carlos Torrengo ponders (sp) the complex relationship between the Government team and the Argentinean middle class. Which is not an easy one to do a clear definition of. The general tone of the article is that there are many people that think high of its rights and not so much of its responsibilities. But becomes easily anxious with the prospective of instability and authoritarism. The article recalls the former vice-president Carlos "Chacho" Alvarez back in April (at the midst of the ruralists uprising) advicing Kirchner to bury the traditional Peronist rethoric.
Alvarez strategies didn’t seem to be very successful for himself in the past (he has to resign and his constituency evaporated). In the end, a cleaver course of action to preserve economic activity may be the decisive factor after all.
Carlos Torrengo reflexiona sobre las complejas relaciones entre el equipo de gobierno y la clase media argentina. La cual no es fácil de definir. El tono general del artículo es el de que hay mucha gente que tiene un alto sentido de sus derechos y uno escaso de sus rsponsabilidades. Pero se torna fácilmente ansiosa ante la perspectiva de inestabilidad y autoritarismo. El artículo recuerda al ex vicepresidente Carlos "Chacho" Alvarez cuando en Abril (en medio del levantamiento ruralista) recomendaba a Kirchner enterrar la tradicional retórica peronista.
Las estrategias de Alvarez no parecen haber sido muy exitosas para sí mismo (tuvo que renunciar y sus seguidores se evaporaron). Al final, un curso de acción lúcido para preservar la activdad económica puede ser el factor decisivo después de todo.
